Alejandro Hodge Hernández
About Alejandro
Alejandro Hodge Hernández is an author and editor working in both the literary and non-fiction fields. He is the founder and head editor of Lurking Llamas Press as well as its publications, the Lurking Llamas Review and North+Sur. His multi-cultural and bilingual background lead him to found Lurking Llamas Press as a refuge for those whose literary creation is tied between different worlds and languages.
Alejandro's literary work explores the absurdities of the world we inhabit, from the terrifying to the amusing to the wonderful. He has published several short stories with Lurking Llamas and is currently working on a few major literary projects. You can read several of these stories in the Lurking Llamas Review or in books such as 19: An Anthology in Two Languages (for which he also served as editor).
As an editor, he seeks to bring out the individuality and personality of the different writers who Lurking Llamas publishes, emphasizing their individual uniqueness and the looseness of the concept of national borders when it comes to the arts. In addition to editing the Lurking Llamas Review literary magazine, Alejandro serves as the primary editor for most original anthologies published by our press.
As for his non-fiction side, Alejandro is the host of North+Sur a bilingual media space published by Lurking Llamas Press dedicated to the analysis of international relations and political affairs, with a particular focus on the American continent. North+Sur is guided by a commitment to the principles of liberal democracy, multilateral cooperation, and a rules-based international order.
Alejandro specializes in international relations and political science, with an emphasis on the American continent (in particular the member states of MERCOSUR and the United States). Alejandro holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science and Government with a concentration in international relations from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s Degree in Culture of Peace, Conflict, Education, and Human Rights from the University of Cádiz.
